Happy Friday!

Here are some random observations/kid quotes/happenings this week:

Kid quote 1: Ms. M! Your hair looks like Wolverine's!
TAKS scores came back & I'm so proud of my kiddos! Thanks for the prayers, All!
Yay for The Last Olympian! John & I both finished the book (last one of the Percy Jackson Series by Rick Riordan) & now my kids are all fighting over/mostly sharing the few copies in the classroom.
Kid quote 2: Ms. M, I have a science question...are butts made of fat, or muscle?
I got the chance to share what I've learned over the last year with 500 women at BSF Monday night. It was a very cool God Moment, and yes, I cried in front of all of them.
Today was the "You're going to begin experiencing some changes" talk in 5th Grade. In case you're wondering, if some kid starts a question with "My mom has this friend..." Just stop her there. You don't want to hear the rest.
We've been working on the yard a lot & it looks so pretty! I love when everything starts blooming & this year I planted all pink & purple flowers in the back yard. Girlie colors make me happy!
I love my DBU group! We met this week to hang out & chat. I can't believe it's been a year since we graduated together!
Only 1 week of school left!!!!!! Woo hoo for Summer!!!!!

Verses from Philippians

1:21: For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.
2:1-11: If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. 2:14-15: Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe.
3:7-8: But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ.
3:12-14:Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
