Obsession...Apathy...Enough

Jana gave me the kick in the booty to post, so here I am! So, if you read my TV on DVD post, you know that I have a problem with addiction. Once I start a TV series - I can't stop. Well, apparently the same goes for a book series. The last time I read a whole series in a matter of weeks, it was the Harry Potter books. For those of you that don't know - I love those books!! So, over Labor Day weekend, I thought I'd try out a new book (recommended to me by Louise). This explains why I haven't posted. In less than a week I have finished the entire Twilight series. It has 4 books: The first book is Twilight (498pages) which I read over a couple days. Next came New Moon (563 pages) that I read in less than 24 hours. Over the next 24 hours I read Eclipse (629 pages). At that point I had to go to work and stuff (darn it!), so it took me a few days last week to finish off Breaking Dawn (768 pages). I don't know if you heard me counting, but that's 2,458 pages in about a week. Don't act like you're not impressed (shout out to Anchor Man). Here's the dilemma of spending a week completely obsessed with reading a book series: it ends. Then, if you're like me, you're thinking, "Now what?" So, last night & today I've been feeling really apathetic & I think I've traced it back to withdrawal. All I really want to do is read...but I'm done...so what now? John suggested reading something that's actually good for me - we just got the book unChristian at a conference we went to this weekend. It basically discusses perceptions of Christians in today's culture...I am excited to read it, but it's just not the same! Anyway, today I've been praying to get over my addiction & the withdrawal/apathy that has followed & I'm pretty sure God shoved this song into my head as a response. Cause it's stuck now & I know I didn't hear it today: Enough by Chris Tomlin: You're my supply My breath of life still more awesome than I know You're my reward Worth living for still more awesome than I know All of You is more than enough for all of me For every thirst and every need You satisfy me with Your love And all I have in You is more than enough You’re my sacrifice Of greatest price and still more awesome than I know You’re my coming King You're my everything and still more awesome than I know More than all I want More than all I need You are more than enough for me More than all I know More than all I can see You are more than enough All of You is more than enough for all of me For every thirst and every need You satisfy me with Your love And all I have in You is more than enough
