Anyway, despite Sarah's ominous warning at work earlier today, here are the events that followed the opening of her post:
1. Me turning bright red.
2. John's response: "I can't believe you said that. Did you forget to turn your filter on while you were talking to her?"
3. Me attempting to defend myself.
4. John telling me that there is no redeeming myself & guilting me about embarrassing Sarah's husband.
5. Me retaliating with this: John once said, "I think Sarah's husband is cool looking."
So, I don't know why I associate Jeremy with an elf - I really did mean it as a compliment, but when I tried to explain to Sarah it just sounded like I was being too complimentary in a creepy stalker kind of way. So, I'm pretty sure there's not a way to dig myself out of this one. All I can say is this:
I'm sorry Jeremy. To borrow my husband's words, I think you're cool looking too, but in my mind, for some reason cool looking = elfish (as seen below).

BAH! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! SOOOOOO not offended! If I had really been offended I wouldn't have made a post about it! I think he's kind of a cross between number 1 and number 3 when he's mad.
AND...he's not embarrassed or offended either. He thought it was really, really funny that that's the comparison you have thought of for him. I asked his permission before I made a post about his Elfish good looks.
Don't replace the filter...I like this kind of stuff!
On a scale of one to ten - how awkward will it be when we all see each other at the school Christmas party? I vote "twelve."
Also, someone once told me that my dad looked like Mr. Spock. Maybe we Upchurch men were born to have points on our ears?
Ha! That is so funny! I can see the look on your face in my head! ;o) I like KT minus filter!!!
Wow, double Upchurch comments, so this is what it takes...I think the rating of a 12 is an appropriate guesstimate, although I still think nothing can out awkward last year's party. I'm pretty sure all I said was, "So you're a drummer..."
Oh, and Megan - this is what happens when you're not around to hold me back - I blame you! ;)
KT!!!! Oh how I love filtertless KT. If only Sarah knew that we compare my husband to an elf in the tiny Keebler way...
like the picture, although the new jeremy looks a bit jaundiced!!!
