Almost 30?
We went to see Step Brothers last weekend, which was really funny, yet really awkward due to the family of 4 sitting next to me, including the elementary age girl who looked at my face to see my reaction during every awkward moment of the movie. Side note: Seriously??? You bring your kids to a rated R movie??? I looked up the detailed rating after we got home and this is what it says: Rated R for crude and sexual content and pervasive language. (That makes me kind of embarrassed that I went to see it) But seriously??? – You take your KIDS to this kind of movie??!?!?!?! Although I could rant about that topic for a while (especially since I work with kids who see EVERY R rated movie that comes out) that’s not the point of this posting.
So, as we are walking in to the theater, the 16 yr old movie theater worker boy (complete with headset) stops us at the door of the theater and asks us…for our IDs! We kind of laugh, and ask, Really? He doesn’t laugh. John pulls out his License & the guy examines it for a minute & tells him he’s fine. He looks at me and asks me for my ID. At this point I begin to panic – I look at John with wide eyes & say “I didn’t even bring my purse!” I look at the kid for a minute & finally he says, “I think you’re ok”. Whew! So either I can pass for being 17 or older, or he just figured if a 29 year old was taking a 16 year old to the movies, there were much bigger issues at hand.

Yah, did you notice the toddler a few rows in front of us? That was the most offensive language I have EVER heard in any movie!
Seriously? You got carded to see a rated R movie? That's impressive! I might have to hate you just a little! ;o)
Yeah, the language was SO bad, & yes I did notice the toddler. His mom seemed annoyed (& surprised?) that he started crying & getting restless during the movie.
Also, I don't think you have to hate me at this point, we're not old ladies yet! Plus, is there any benfit to looking UNDER 17? I don't think so. 21-24=cool, <17=not cool.
Yes, you have a point. Especially since our husbands are, in fact, almost 30. I wouldn't be 17 again for all the moola in the world!
Wasn't John sporting the after-mission trip beard? I mean, I'd say he looks AT LEAST 18...maybe even 20!!!
I'll go with you guys next time and tell them I'm your legal guardian.
I know, right? That's actually John's favorite part of the story. I can't believe I left it out!! Maybe you'll get carded next - there are plenty of pregnant 16 year olds running around these days (just don't mention it's your 4th one).
