DBU Reunion & Surprise!

One of my first blog postings was right after I graduated with my Masters in Educational Leadership from DBU, so this blog missed out on the shmorgishborg of hilarious stories & fun times I had with an amazing group of people know as my DBU cohort. We had so much fun together & it made going to class something I looked forward to & enjoyed. We still get together every once in a while & about a week ago we met for lunch. Little did I know, they had more planned than I realized! Here's the group - looking so sweet and innocent!

Here's the amazing (and oh-so-yuumy) cake they surprised me with!

I'm not sure if my favorite part of lunch was Kyle claiming the presents were all from him (before he realized most of them had a breast-feeding theme), or when his 2 kids joined in singing a modified birthday song which I'm guessing could only be called "Happy Impregnation to You!"

Did I mention this group can get a little rowdy? We may not be allowed back to that restaurant, but I'm sure there are others who haven't heard of our infamous cohort yet! Anyway, I wanted to send a big 'Thank you!" to my rambunctious group of friends! Thank you for thinking of me (& Baby Jack) - life would not be the same without you!

Verses from Philippians

1:21: For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.
2:1-11: If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. 3:7-8: But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ.
3:12-14:Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
