Almost Summer & Jack Updates

Jack is Mr. talkative these days. We're always surprised at the things he comes up with. it's so fun to see him grow & hear him explain the things going through his head. Here's a recent conversation we had in the car:
Me: What do you want to eat?
Jack: My want some hay bales. My have a cow in my pocket. Cow is mooing in my pocket.

Well, ok then...

He is also pretty consistent with some favorites lately:

Color: green

Food: not much - yogurt

Question: what does ....eat? (Fill in any & every type of animal in the blank. He is very interested in what they all eat.)

Song: Lay Me Down (Chris Tomlin) He's heard us play this one at church & has been known to belt it out at the most random times. It's pretty awesome.

He has also started singing his ABCs. We didn't even know he could until one day he just sang the whole song while playing on his own. Yay, Jack!

Jack loves the piano, guitar, & drums - really any music. He is always singing songs- sometimes there's a melody & other times it sounds like some kind of tribal chanting. Every Sunday after church he plays John's drums & sings.

Favorite Movie(s) - We've moved on from Cars & Cars 2 to Finding Nemo. He also likes To watch Bubble Guppies & Team Umi Zoomi.

His last day of preschool for this school year is Wednesday. We conferenced with his teacher who praised his verbal & motor skills. She also mentioned we might want to focus on him following directions. (Can you say strong-willed?!) Other than that it was all positive. He's even started napping again, which was a bit of a battle at school for a while.

I'm really excited to have to summer break in 2 short weeks to just be Mommy & hang out with my little man.  He is so challenging in some ways, but an absolute joy in so many other ways. I know we will have fun playing & learning. I see lots of library & zoo time in our future! :)

Winter Update

I have to laugh at the word "winter" in the title as it is currently 72 degrees outside & it's absolutely gorgeous! Jack and I are hanging out & working on the house while John is at a rehearsal, so I thought I'd take a moment to document some of Jack's recent goings-ons.
- Jack is very talkative and can communicate almost anything he wants at this point.
- Says: love ooh! Gank you! Alwight! Oopsie daisy! And lots of other cute little phrases & exclamations
- Loves playing chase & tickles
- Laughs a lot and loves to be funny- often says "Jack being funny."
- Is obsessed with the move Cars & "Light Keen" & "Ma-doe"
- Still loves playing with trucks, trains, and puzzles
- Loves going to the zoo & the park
- Helps with things like sorting laundry, putting things in the trash, or sink, getting himself dressed or undressed, & cleaning up his toys
- Loves eating pasta, okra, fruit, And lots of other foods
- At prayer time he often thanks God for family, friends, water, chips, Pio, and many other things. Pretty fun to listen to!

"Sentences"

Jack is Mr. Talkative these days. He uses mostly longer phrases to get his point across as opposed to just one word. I love how clearly he is able to communicate now. Here are some samples:
-big truck fast wheels round and round
- goose water honk honk!
- dada up house ladder (this was when John was putting up Christmas lights)
- red light stop green light go
-Lucy loud bark bark
-uh oh, goggie (doggie) fall down

He's also a big fan of commands like:
-Dada, sit down!
-Lucy, come on!
-Mama, catch it!

He's a little sponge right now & will repeat anything. For instance, Aunt Amy taught him to say, "Stop! Hammer Time!" It's pretty funny.

Being Two

I've done a lot of picture posts lately, but haven't included as many details about life with a 2 year old, so here it goes...

Jack is seriously awesome. He is energetic, inquisitive, funny, adorable, feisty, stubborn, too smart for his own good, musical, joyful, affectionate, loving, empathetic, talkative, rambunctious, bossy, and I'll say it again, awesome.

I love the way he is communicating so clearly now. There are some phrases he uses we still can't figure out, & you can just see him processing, "How can I explain what I mean to my silly parents who can't seem to understand what I'm saying?" We've been asking about one phrase in particular for weeks now: oohtoofee. We asked him to show us, point at it, etc. Nothing. Finally I asked the right question: "Jack, what do you mean by oohtoofee?" He said, "Numbers. Counting." John and I both responded with, "Oh! One, two, three!" I had just been asking the wrong questions this whole time. ;)

Jack is still really into trucks, tractors, and fire trucks. He's going to be a fireman or Halloween- I'm sure another picture post will cover that soon. He is still going around singing and dancing to "Our God will meet all your needs" from Vacation Bible School last June.

Another favorite activity of Jack's is doing puzzles. We have a lot of wooden puzzles from his cousins which he has pretty much mastered. Luckily we have harder ones in the closet that we can break out next. He also loves playing the Tozzle app (more puzzles) on the iPhone. He is amazingly fast even with the more complicated ones.

Now for Mommy's favorite: Jack says "I love you" now! Well, he says "Love ooh", but it's so sweet. He also asks for hugs and kisses, which also makes my heart happy. :)

Happy Birthday, Jack!

Jack, We can't believe it's already been 2 years since we met you face to face! You are such a joy to us! We praise God for your fun-loving, energetic, and hilarious personality as well as your curious, cuddly, & sensitive side.

At 2 you love trains (choo choos), fire trucks, raisins, throwing things, Lucy, and any activity where you get to run & play.

You are a precious gift & we love you more than you know! Happy Birthday, Little Guy!

Favorites

Since I haven't done monthly updates in a while, I thought I would jot down some things Jack likes at 22 months:

- vehicles - cars, planes, bikes, motorcycles (mo!), ambulances, fire trucks, tractors, trains (too too), helicopters (heh-cah)...
- humus - (um-ah) he would eat this all day if I Iet him!
- yogurt - (mah-gow) his other favorite food
- counting - he loves to count things like this: dadadadadaaaaa da! Two!
- animals - he loves different animals including his own personal animal, Lucy, and all the animals at the zoo. His latest skill is making the sound the elephant makes. I also love how he says horsey: ee-sow. Hee hee!
- riding or pushing toys
- pool - he calls it "Poo!" Ha ha! He loves his tiny back yard pool & he loves the big pool at Grandma & Grandpa's house. He did great on the 4th holding onto the wall, holding his breath & putting his face in the water, jumping to mommy, and exploring the stairs where his feet could touch.
- people - he loves his family and all our friends. He also loves getting the attention of strangers in restaurants and when we're out running errands.
- sounds - animal sounds, car sounds, screaming, screeching, whispering...he is doing a lot of experimenting lately!

Winter Update

Jack is all about exploring his world right now. This ranges from spending time examining an object in his hands, to running around checking things out. He is very talkative & likes to try out his words on anyone who will listen, or practice them on his own while playing, falling asleep, or waking up. His default word is still "Dada". In fact Dada can be asked as a question, used as a cheerful greeting, or stated in a serious manner.

Jack is also very active. He pretty much runs everywhere he goes which has caused a new round of bruises all over his little body. He's a resilient little guy though, & seems to shake off injuries pretty quickly. Speaking of running, Jack loves being chased right now. If we won't chase him, he knows he can steal Lucy's ball to make her chase him. When that happens you can hear him giggling like a madman as he runs around the living room with his big red dog in pursuit.

When Jack does stop moving, he likes to sit by the front window and look around at the neighborhood, or read a book. He often brings us his big picture book of animals & insists we go through each picture several times. He will point at each picture and ask, "Dada?" unless it is a word he knows, in which case he will tell us the word.

At bedtime he loves reading his little Bible & has started pointing to Jesus on each page. After we read his books, Bible, & prayer book we always end by folding our hands & praying, "Jesus loves Jack" to which Jack responds: "MAAAAAAE MEN!" I love it. :)

At his last doctor's appointment we learned once again we have a tall, skinny boy (97th percentile in height & 30th in weight). We've gotten several comments lately from other parents about how tall he is & it's true. The boy can now reach table tops & door knobs. (Eek!)

Teeth 7&8 (third one in the front/bottom right, & his first molar - top left) have made an appearance, & we are sure 9&10 are just around the corner. His mouth has been bothering him a lot with these last ones, but he is still a happy guy overall. Speaking of teeth, he LOVES helping me brush his teeth before bed. Sometimes the hardest part of the bedtime routine is getting the toothbrush away from him!

Some other things I love about Jack right now:
-He says "Thank you" all the time.
-He loves giving kisses.
-He loves singing to his "Baby music" & we've realized he's learned several words from those songs (down, train sounds, ribbit, and probably others we haven't realized). For more on his latest words, check out the post below: Jacktionary 2.0.
-He will stop his playing to come sit with me, or give me hugs.
-His precious little laugh.

Being home these last two weeks has been a huge blessing. Jack is so much fun & the weather was perfect for outdoor activities. We went to the Arboretum, Zoo, Zoo again, and the park (several times), and he loved it all. I love how he is so much more observant & aware when we go places now. He was mesmerized by the zoo animals (especially the flamingos this last time), and he loves climbing the stairs & going down the big slides at the park.

I could probably keep adding to this post forever. Jack is growing & changing so quickly right now, & it is so much fun to watch him & be a part of his life. Needless to say, I'm looking forward to the new year with my little guy (& his daddy too!)

Fall Update

Jack. Is. Awesome. The End. I could leave it at that, but I've got some catching up to do, so here come the bullet points:
  • Jack loves his schedule & sticks to it pretty closely every day. He's still taking 2 naps & he's a great sleeper at night. He eats pretty much whatever we eat now, which is cool too.
  • Jack spends most of his time running around & playing with anything & everything. Some of his favorites are playing hide & seek in the curtains, pushing & pulling various toys, going down his slide, and spending quality time with his favorite toy/friend: Lucy. He loves sharing his food with Lucy, throwing her ball, chasing her & cuddling her.
  • Jack can now answer the question. "What does the cow say?" He has the cutest little moo sound ever & he makes sure to pucker up his little lips while doing it. I love it. He also makes car sounds when he plays with cars & trucks.
  • Latest words: shoes, Nate, grand-dada, night night.
  • One of my favorite things Jack does now is giving hugs & kisses. When I ask him for a kiss, he either leans his forehead toward me so I can kiss it, or he comes at me with the drool in full force. He is also quite generous with his hugs & even tried to hug a random little girl who bumped into him in a store recently. It was pretty funny.
  • Jack's favorite foods at the moment are mac & cheese, muffins, pasta, & goldfish. Yes, the boy has discovered carbs. He still eats his fruits & veggies, but not with as much gusto as the other items I just mentioned.
  • Jack is very vocal & lets us know when he's happy, sad, excited, frustrated, etc. All his little noises are pretty funny, but hard to describe. I'll have to get more video of him for that.
  • Jack wants to walk (or run) all the time. ALL the time. ALL THE TIME.
  • Jack definitely knows the layout of the house & the church. He knows where each person's office is, where the nursery is, & where he's likely to find all his church friends during the week.
  • Tooth #5 recently made its appearance, & we have a feeling #6 is on its way.
  • Another fun development is Jack's enthusiastic participation in singing & doing the motions for The Itsy Bitsy Spider. He's attempted the spider part for a while, but now he does the rain, washing out, & sun. I tried to get it on video tonight, but missed it, so I'll have to keep trying.
  • We've started letting Jack help brush his teeth & he thinks it's great fun to have control of his little toothbrush. He also likes to show off his shiny teeth with a giant smile when he's done.
  • He still loves to dance & will sing "la la la" with songs. He also claps whenever any song ends - this includes the radio, commercials, church, in stores...

This list could go on forever! Jack is so much fun, & he is learning & growing so quickly. We are so blessed by our little guy every single day!

Dear Jack

Precious Jackson William,

I cannot begin to express how much you have changed my life in the last year. You are an amazing gift & I love you with every fiber of my being. The best part of my day every day is when you hug me tight before I put you down for bed. You are such an amazing little boy. I call you Wild Man, Baby Boy, Sugar Bear, Silly Boy, Little Jack Man, Jack Jack... You've got a lot of names, & plenty of personality to go with them!

I love how you wrinkle up you nose & smile, showing off your new top teeth. I love how you laugh in delight when you think something is funny, or because other people are laughing, or for no apparent reason at all. I love watching you explore & learn as you play with your toys or crawl around the house. I love your sense of humor & your sense of rhythm. I love when you dance & when you sing. I love that you love music, your daddy, & your dog. I love that you can be my silly little wild man one minute & crawl into my arms to cuddle the next. God knew what he was doing when He created you, Precious One, & I praise Him that He chose me to be your Mommy. You are an indescribable gift & I love you more than you will ever know.

Happy Birthday, Jack!

Love,

Mommy

11 Months Old!

It's been pretty crazy lately, and Jack is changing so quickly, but here's a quick summary of the last month or so.

  • a LOT of cruising & standing
  • He cruises really fast around the couch & really wants to walk. He often gets frustrated when he falls.
  • He took 2 steps on his own!!! :)
  • I was trying to wash dirt off his legs when I realized it was really bruises on his little knees & shins! Poor little crawling man!
  • Communication breakthrough! He asks for "more" (using baby sign language) unprompted pretty regularly & he will go find objects when you ask him to (puppy dog, bottle/milk)
  • Makes his opinion known! Loudly.
  • Is eating more & more real food! He finally got past the the gagging & eats crackers, chicken, potatoes, peas, carrots, apples, beans, cheese, corn, bread, muffins, etc.
  • Feeds himself his bottle & now likes to attempt this while standing up - another balancing act in itself
  • Met Sis & Julia & LOVED playing with them both
  • Same words as before, but will sometimes get lucky when he repeats something we say to him (Julia, Irish)
  • Favorite word at the moment: Lucy (pretty much any animal/picture of an animal = Lucy) Also says Lucy when he hears a dog bark
  • Lucy is also his favorite playmate. He throws her ball & pets her, but has trouble being gentle when he gets excited. Lucy is super patient with him & has learned how to avoid him when she's not in the mood for his feisty games
  • He LOVES to explore & follow me around the house. I love this! He's my little buddy!
  • He's really into opening & closing doors
  • 4 teeth
  • 21 lbs.
  • He will be one year old in less than a month! Eek! :)

My First Baseball Game

Howdy! Jack here, again. Mom said something about "laundry"...whatever that is, so I'm taking care of the blog today. So, during mission trip we got to meet up with my cousins & go to my first ever baseball game. I had so much fun! There was sooooo much to look at, and people were doing a lot of one of my favorite things: clapping. Naturally, I had to join them. Mommy kept taking pictures of Daddy & me. Some turned out kinda silly... and some were sweet (one of Mommy's words, not mine). I made it through the first 5 innings before I got too tired, but hey, it was waaaay past my bedtime, so I think I did pretty great! Speaking of tired, it's nap time. Later, Peeps! -Jack

10 months

This is late coming seeing as how he will soon be 11 months, but better late than never, I guess. This month has been crazy! Jack is learning and changing so fast, I can't even believe it!
  • I just looked back at the 9 month post...at that point I said "No crawling yet." That almost makes me laugh now! He went from scooting, creeping, & rolling, to crawling, pulling up, standing, & cruising in the blink of an eye. His current focus is trying to stand with no hands. He also likes to stand (while holding on to the couch) & trying to lean down to pick up toys without falling.
  • He loves playing and exploring, putting toys in buckets, pushing buttons, etc.
  • We made him a book of pictures of family members so we can practice names & he loves it. He will sit & flip through it over & over with a big smile on his face. :)
  • He loves clapping, cheering, sticking his tongue out, & playing peek-a-boo.
  • Favorite song: Itsy Bitsy Spider
  • Favorite Book: Barnyard Dance (by Sandra Boyton)
  • Jack is very social & LOVES people. He smiles, babbles, & displays his cuteness to anyone who will pay attention.
  • Jack is working on tooth number 4 at moment & it's been a rough week or so, as he's also been dealing with a cold. :(
  • Baby signs he knows: more, all done, milk
  • Favorite words: dada = daddy, dahd = dog, nana = nana, mama = mommy, dat = Jack
  • Latest foods: pasta, corn, peas, chicken, potato, muffins, & bread
  • Jack is super active all the time! He is so much fun & we're having a blast. :)

9 months old!

On Monday Jack was officially 9 months old! So... that means bullet points!
  • weight: 19 pounds
  • length/height: 29 inches
  • Jack is working on perfecting different words. It's cool to see him watch your mouth as you say words & try to imitate the movement/sound. Mama & Dada are still his favorites. He has also started saying 'hi' & we're trying to figure out if he means 'hi' when he says it because we recently taught him 'high five', which has confused the waving thing. So, for the past couple days he has been saying hi & raising his hand up like a wave - or high five. Who knows? He also repeated "Nana" today when I told him we were calling Nana on the phone. It was pretty cute. :)
  • Jack is quite the mover. However, he does so by rolling, turning, and scooting - no crawling yet! I was cleaning his room the other day & he made his way all around the floor chasing different toys around. I was impressed (& reminded to vacuum). Today he made it across the middle of the living room until he was under the coffee table.
  • We took Jack for his first swim! He loved it & enjoyed kicking & splashing the whole time.
  • We are starting to add "real" food to his diet & he's not sure what to do with it. He likes playing with puffs until he loses them (usually they are stuck to one of his hands somewhere). We tried some tiny pieces of squash last night & after he rejected that, I decided to just give him a big piece of broccoli to play with. He immediately tried to feed it to Lucy. After that, anything we handed him, he would just hold out to Lucy. She was really good & didn't take any food out of his hand. Once it hit the floor, however...oh well, baby steps, right?
  • We're having so much fun this summer!!! I love our little family!

Celebrating 9 Years!

On June1st we celebrated 9 years of marriage. It crazy how it feels like our wedding day was just yesterday, yet it also seems like we've been married forever - in a good way of course. ;o) To celebrate we decided to stay a night downtown while my mom kept Jack at our house. It was a whopping 24 hours away from babykins! As we walked out the door, my mom asked what our plan was. Our reply: We don't know!
We ended up doing some shopping, eating lunch, & seeing a movie. Then we found our hotel, walked around downtown, ate dinner, went on a carriage ride (like we did on our wedding day:), ate dessert while watching an outdoor movie, & headed back to the hotel. I think part of the greatness of the day was not having a plan - just making it up as we went, with no schedule. I was reminded how much I love my husband is & how much fun we have together just hanging out talking.
I love you, John & I thank God for you every day!

The Latest

Jack is so much fun! I know I say that a lot, but it's true. Everyday it seems there is a new development, & he is learning new things so quickly. As always...time for bullet points.
  • He's working on getting mobile - lots of rolling, scooting, turning, pulling, pushing, kicking, bouncing - anything he can do to move around. I think he's going to figure out this crawling thing pretty soon, so it's a good thing I'm about to be out of school for the summer. We've got a lot of baby-proofing to do!
  • He loves his voice. Jack's current favorites are dadadadadadada, mamamamama, and babababababa. There are also assorted screams & whining sounds that he is more than happy to produce at any time.
  • He seems to know dada (or daya) is John. I can ask, "Where's Daddy?" and he will look around until he sees John & give him a huge smile.
  • I think he knows I'm mama too. :)
  • We're working on signs with him too & he seems to know 'all done'. It's still hard to tell, but he seems to be doing it pretty consistently when he gets tired of playing, or is ready for a new activity.
  • He loves bouncing & rocking. I sat him on the rocking ottoman in front of me one day & he immediately started rocking back & forth & laughing. He was very proud of himself & got tired of mommy holding on to him so he wouldn't fly off the thing...sorry kid!
  • He is 'learning' to drop & throw toys. He will throw a ball back & forth with you for as long as you will play.
  • He loves tags. Who cares about the toy!
  • He loves to hug & kiss me, or maul me/try to eat my hair depending on how excited he is.
  • Like I said, it seems like there's something new everyday, I've gotta write stuff down more often!

Last night he tried to share his pacifier with me. It was pretty funny because I couldn't figure out what he was doing at first. He kept putting it in his mouth, then trying to put it in my mouth. Then he would laugh hysterically. I'm loving his little sense of humor which is showing more and more.

That's it for now! 8 more days 'til summer! Woo hoo!!

8 months old!

In 5 days Jack will be 8 months old! Time is flying by & he is changing so fast. Sooooo, here are some more bullets for your reading pleasure:
  • Jack is still a super happy boy & he loves to laugh & smile at people.
  • Jack has added peas, bananas, & prunes to the list of foods he eats. Green beans are up next!
  • Jack can also use a sippy cup & seemed to know exactly what to do the first time I handed him the thing. We've put mostly water with a little bit of pear or apple juice in there for him.
  • If you've talked to us lately, you've probably been involved in some sort of poop related conversation. Hence the newest food additions and fruit juice...gotta love parenthood.
  • Jacks favorite sound: mmmmmmm ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma
  • spit bubbles & splaty sounds are still a favorite.
  • Big development in the last month is that Jack sits up on his own now for extended periods of time. He is so cute! He is also gaining control so he can reach for toys & stuff without falling over every time. This also means he can use a high chair if we're at a restaurant & sit in the basket while we're shopping - such a big boy!
  • Tummy time is getting more & more productive. Jack does lots of baby push-ups, attempts to pull himself forward with his arms to reach toys, and now he's managing to pull his knees up under him on occasion. You can tell he's making progress toward becoming mobile, but he's not quite there yet...
  • He has a hilarious new laugh he uses when he's being silly. It's kind of sheep-like or something...I'll have to get a video of it.
  • Jack is so fun to play with! He likes throwing/rolling a ball back & forth.
  • He enjoys being up-side-down. I guess it's a new perspective for him...
  • He LOVES playing peek-a-boo. I don't know if he got this one from my mom, but if not, he just started doing it. Any time he has a blanket, clothing article, or anything he can cover his face with, he will play peek-a-boo.
  • He is a LOT more interactive when you play & I think he is starting to show a sense of humor (as mentioned with the silly laugh).
  • I'm still trying to figure out if he has been 'kissing' me lately. Today I realized when I kiss his cheek, he puts his slobbery wide-open mouth on my face in return. It's become a game and we both laugh hysterically...like, in the middle of Red Robin. (sorry to the rest of the people at our table!) Well, we had fun.

That's it for now! I'll try to post some pics soon...

7 months

This time of year is always so busy! I'm spending every free moment with John & our little guy. Jack. Is. Awesome. He is such a happy boy - always smiling & laughing. He totally melts my heart. I've tried to post videos periodically here. Once again, I'm going to have to go with the bulleted list of Jack news...
  • Like I said, he is SUCH a happy baby! He loves to laugh and smile & coo.
  • He still enjoys his 'screeching' sounds & spends a lot of time seeing how high his voice can go. He also likes playing with volume - from whispering, to yelling. I like seeing how pleased he is with himself whenever he discovers yet another new sound.
  • We've been introducing solid food & Jack seems to have no problem when it comes to eating! Jack eats rice cereal, apples, peaches, pears, sweet potatoes, carrots, & squash. Next will come the green veggies...that should be fun.
  • He makes a 'mmmmm' sound when he's hungry or wants more.
  • He definitely knows his own name & will turn & look at you when he hears it.
  • He loves saying 'mama', 'ba', 'di', and lots of other sounds and combos
  • Seems to enjoy creating spit bubbles
  • He has very good control of his hands & will grab anything within his reach. He can also pass things back & forth between his hands, turn things over, drop things, swing things around, turn pages, push buttons on his toys, etc.
  • He's also used that new found control to grab Lucy a couple of times. She's been awesome with him. There's only been once where he got ahold of her fur pretty well before I intervened. She just licked his hand until he let go enough for her to escape - yay Lucy! Since then she has been staying out of arm's reach!
  • He loves any toys that make noise. He also likes seeing videos & pictures of himself. It's hilarious to watch him watch himself. He will look at the video and smile, then look at me with this completely delighted expression on his face.
  • Lastly, he has a new best friend: his stuffed penguin - he LOVES that toy more than any other & cuddles with it at night too. Thanks again for the sweet gift, Monti!

Happy (Half) Birthday!

Jack is six months old today!
I love you, Baby Boy!
Jack is so much fun! He spent 3 days this past week at camp with all of my 5th graders and did great. He smiled, played, hiked around in the Ergo with mommy, & watched everything that was going on around him. He is rolling over back to front pretty easily now, although sometimes his arm gets stuck under his body & makes him mad. He loves to grab anything and everything & spends a lot of time working on perfecting control of his hands. He is very vocal & is adding consonant sounds to his vowel collection (his favorite at the moment ba ba ba). We love the sound of him babbling to himself, or to us - it's the best.

This is How I Roll!

Today was the perfect family day! Jack 'slept in' until 7:30, ate, and fell asleep again for a while. He woke up a little later & played while I made breakfast. After that we woke up Daddy & got ready for the day. We ended up running some errands, then grabbing sandwiches & going to the Botanic Gardens. We ate our lunch & walked around enjoying the perfect weather. After that we decided to make use of our zoo passes & stop by for an hour or so. Last time we went to the MOLA & Texas Wild areas, so this time we headed for the primates, elephants, giraffes, etc. Jack was more alert this time & actually looked at the animals. :) We stopped by John's parents house to water their plants & check on the pool (they're traveling around Australia & New Zealand right now!) then headed home. Jack spent the evening on his blanket & rolled over 3 times in a row (back to front). So exciting! We'd been waiting for him to make it all the way over for a while now & my mom told us he did it Thursday while we were at work, but it was even cooler to see it first hand. Way to go, Baby Jack! We love you so much. Here are some random pics since we didn't take any zoo or garden pics today. Check out the rolls on those thighs! Right before he rolled over for us!
Lunch with Daddy & friends on Friday.

5 months old

Today Baby Jack is 5 months old! And for his birthday he got...a tooth! Poor guy. His bottom middle/right tooth emerged yesterday & I think it finally broke through today. It's been a rough couple of days with a bit of a fever, lots of crying, a runny nose, and some 'impressive' diapers. Today he was so tired, but couldn't fall asleep for a nap. I finally ended up putting him in the ergo carrier while I cleaned out my closet, sorted laundry, & rearranged our bedroom. He slept on me for about 45 minutes while I did all that. Today was a lot better than yesterday, so hopefully tomorrow will be even better...
