Nesting?

I've always heard about nesting & was really looking forward to suddenly becoming a super-productive, organized, and laundry-loving wonder woman. I guess that's not quite how it works...today marks the T minus 2 month point which means I'm at 31 weeks & have started counting down instead of counting up! I keep going back and forth between "I can't wait!", and "Wow, this is going by really fast!" I don't know if the nesting thing has really kicked in or not, but here are the 'signs' I've been displaying:
  • Shopping...mostly for baby-related stuff ;o)
  • Setting up the baby room - I think we're about 90% ready!
  • Cooking - this may just be a miracle because I never cook! In the last week I've made 3 separate meals & frozen the leftovers so they will be super-easy to heat up in a time of need!
  • Cleaning...well, the house is clean, but did I get it that way all by myself? I'll never tell! I am working hard to maintain it though!
  • Organizing - I haven't been organizing stuff so much, but organizing the activities & such I'm involved in. This week I'm focusing on getting all my church stuff in order & making sure the different things I do there will be covered when I'm out with Jack.

Other stuff we've been up to:

  • Spending time with family - John's whole family was in town & we had fun watching movies, swimming, going to the museum, eating, and hanging out with them.
  • Staring at my belly - Jack is moving soooooooo much! Some days it's almost non-stop & he is spending more and more time pushing on my lowest right rib. That part's not so fun, but watching him move around sure is entertaining!
  • Reading together - every once in a while John & I find a book we both like & read it aloud together just for fun. It's great for car rides, or for hanging out with the TV turned off. Right now we're reading The Hunger Games. It's a reread for me because the final book of the series is about to come out (I like to read the previous books again before reading a new one in a series), but it's new to John.
  • Spending more time with God - We're both reading Too Busy Not to Pray by Bill Hybels with the church band & I really like it so far. I also just started Living Free by Beth Moore with a group of wonderful Ladies at our church. It has given me more structure & motivation to spend daily time with the Lord & for that I am so grateful!
