Serious Question

This is your chance to be 100% completely honest. I bought this long top/dress a couple months ago & have put it on several times. However, I've never left the house in it & I need your opinion - I mean am I just too old for this style? Is it that I haven't worn leggings since I was 8? Should I try the thing with jeans? Do I give it up all together? You be the judge.

So...what's the verdict???

Wait...are those purple or gray tights?

It makes you booty look good in the side view - I'm just sayin'.

I think I'd like to see it with jeans. Can you try it on again with jeans and post those pics???

Also, is John taking the pics? Tell him to get lower so I can admire the details of the garment!!!

I love tops with pockets - so I'm a fan.

The tights are grey. I think I might like it with jeans, but all my jeans right now are either baggy or wide leg - which looks weird...I'll see if I have any other jeans that might work...

Yes, John is too tall - I look like I might tip over with my giant head & body on top of those tiny legs & feet - esp. in the last pic.

Thanks for the input! If I find more options, I'll try to post more pics.

Sorry I can't help you. I am no fashionista. If it doesn't involve running shoes I am of no use. You look cute, though!

I showed Drew your pictures to ask a guys opinion. You're welcome! He said you are too old and your clothes are from the wrong decade. His fashion advice is to find you a good pair of stirrup pants! Don't put too much stock in his critique!

Oh! Now I know what the last picture reminds me of! Were you saying "How do I look?"

I am lovin' it! Very cute! Maybe a cute pair of black heels?

Dori - are you referring to a movie/tv(quote), or is this a general statement? Yes, that was the 'what do you think?' pose! :)

I think you look cute. Of course, I must confess to some jealousy because I could NEVER pull that off at my age (not to mention SIZE)! I also think it would be cute with some of those skinny jeans, or even boot cut, but I'm no fashion expert. I know that comes as a shock to you!

I think you totally pull it off. The black is very flattering and the tights make your legs look slim. It looks cute w/the flats too :)
Where it w/confidence!
(I say that b/c I still haven't worn mine yet for the same reasons... I always picture myself when I was 5 in a minnie mouse shirt and black tights everytime I think about wearing some)

Hm. Are the tights see-through-ish?

I think it's okay for a day at the mall or something...maybe not my #1 most favorite outfit that I've ever seen you in. I think the long top with your jeans that fit you tighter would be cute. (I think flare/wide leg would be okay as long as they're snug at the top.) And some sassy heels.

And maybe the tights under a jean skirt?

Katie, Please change the tights to black that go all the way down to cover feet, not short. Then put on long necklace (silver rings). We all wanted to look tall and lean like TWIGGY in the late 60's and so the long lean tights with top made us feel taller and leggier. This is the opinion from Mom and Auntie Challis who I might add was a FASHIONISTA in the olden days!!!! Thanks so much for my surprise. You guys are awesome! Love Mommy

Beautiful Katie,

Julia and I agree with Mom and Auntie Challis. Black tights (footless, but longer than the gray ones) WOULD look better, and we recommend sticking with the flats so your all-black look isn't too intimidating and off-putting.

Funny blog! How do you have the time?

Hey Sis! I'm so glad you found me. :) I started the blog in the summer & I've found it's a great way to process, share, & just be silly! The posting has slowed down a lot as the schedule has filled up, but I still enjoy it as a hobby.

Thanks for the advice & tell Julia I always trust her opnion! I still haven't worn the top - I'm still intimidated by it...however, I might have to get some new leggings this weekend & go for it!
